I began practicing yoga as a child when my mother began attending yoga classes. I remember sitting on the floor with my mother and mirroring her movements. I of course did not understand what I was doing at the time other than stretching my body. I continued to utilize yoga throughout high school and college again though only a means of stretching. It was not until about 5 years ago when I underwent a life transformation that my true yoga practice began. I became a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance after completing my 200 hour yoga teacher training at The Yoga Effect in February of 2014. In addition to being a yoga teacher, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I often use yoga breathing and movement as part of the therapeutic process helping individuals manage stress, anxiety and depression in healthy and natural ways. I hope to begin training to become a Yoga Therapist in 2018, learning to utilize more aspects of yoga to help individuals work through emotional, physical and psychological pain.
